Training Programs

Learn about the different training programs available in VimoSwim.
VimoSwim ships with ten built-in training programs (P0–P9), from a classic metronome to specialized stroke-timing patterns used in competitive swimming. Programs 5–9 are experimental — fully usable, but still being refined.

Built-in Programs

Core Programs

0 Tempo (default)
default
The classic swim metronome — a steady beat at your chosen interval. Best starting point for building rhythm awareness.
1 Interval

Work/rest interval timing with a big countdown, configurable start countdown and looping.
2 Pace

Pace-based training — set your target as min/100m and swim to it.
3 Waltz

Catch-up drill timing.
8 Sprint

Tempo Adjustment

Increment
spec
0.01 seconds per press for precise control
Range
spec
0.10 – 9.99 seconds between beats
Default Tempo
default
1.30 seconds between beats
Fast Scrolling

Feedback Modes

Each program signals the beat in one of three ways — pick what fits your session in the program settings:

Audio Feedback

Clear beep at each interval, with selectable tone, beep length, and volume. Runs up to ~7 hours.

Visual Feedback

LED flash in sync with the tempo. The battery champion — 20+ hours of training.

Haptic Feedback

Vibration pulses you can feel through your swim cap. Perfect for noisy pools — up to ~9 hours.

Pro Tips

For Beginners: Start with 0 Tempo at 1.30 seconds. Gradually adjust as you develop rhythm awareness.
Battery Saver: Switch the signal to LED for very long sessions — it lasts several times longer than sound or vibration.
The screen automatically dims and sleeps during active training to save power. This is normal behavior — the device is still keeping your tempo.
