Vimo Garmin Data Field
Record Vimo tempo into the FIT file as a developer field.
Still being built. This app is in active development. There is nothing to download yet — leave us a note and we will tell you the moment it ships.
Vimo Garmin Data Field is a Connect IQ data field that writes the tempo your Vimo is playing straight into the FIT file your watch records. Once it ships, every swim you upload to Garmin Connect, Strava or TrainingPeaks carries the tempo alongside your splits — no manual notes, no second device to sync.
Today the tempo lives on the Vimo and the swim data lives on the watch, and joining them up is a chore. A developer field closes that gap at the source: one recording, one file, both stories in it.
What it will do
Planned for the first release
Scope can still move — if something here matters to you, say so and it moves up.
Tempo as a developer field
Every tempo change is stamped into the FIT record stream, so it lines up with your splits second by second.
Live on the watch face
See the current tempo mid-set without lifting your head or reaching for the device.
Travels with the upload
Garmin Connect, Strava and TrainingPeaks all read developer fields — the tempo arrives wherever your swim does.
Direct BLE link
Reads the tempo from your Vimo over Bluetooth Low Energy. No phone in the loop, nothing to start by hand.
Light on battery
Built to sit in a long pool or open-water session without meaningfully shortening your watch's day.
Broad watch support
Targeting the fenix, Forerunner and Swim families first, then widening from there.
