Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

At Vimo Swim, we believe that privacy is a fundamental right. Vimo Connect has been designed with a privacy-first approach: almost everything the app does happens on your phone and over a direct Bluetooth link to your Vimo Swim device. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

Vimo Connect stores the following data locally on your device:

• Training Programs: Custom interval programs you create are stored locally on your device.
• Device Pairing Information: Bluetooth connection data to remember your Vimo Swim device.
• App Preferences: Your settings and preferences for the app interface.
• Training History: Session logs and progress data are stored locally.
• Sign-in Session: If you sign in, authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage so you stay signed in.

This data stays on your device. We cannot read it remotely, and it is not uploaded to our servers.

3. Account Data on Our Servers

Vimo Connect offers an optional user account, used to identify you for firmware updates and support. You can use the core features of the app - creating programs and controlling your Vimo Swim device over Bluetooth - without signing in.

If you do create an account or sign in with Google or Apple, the following data is stored on our servers:

• Email address - used to identify your account and to send account-related messages such as password resets.
• Name - if provided by you or by the sign-in provider you chose.
• Authentication identifiers - the account identifier issued by our authentication provider, and, for password accounts, a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
• Account timestamps - when the account was created and last used.

Account data is processed on servers operated by Vimo Swim (Vimo Swim Sp. z o.o.) in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union), and authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We do not sell this data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Bluetooth Communication

Vimo Connect uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate with your Vimo Swim device. This communication is direct between your phone and the device - no data passes through external servers. The Bluetooth connection is used to transfer training programs, update device settings, and install firmware updates. Location permission may be requested by Android as a technical requirement for Bluetooth scanning; the app does not collect, store, or transmit your location.

5. Analytics, Advertising and Crash Reporting

Vimo Connect contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party tracking. We do not collect usage statistics, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not use advertising identifiers. There is therefore no behavioural or analytics data about you for us to store, retain, or share.

6. Data Retention

We keep data only for as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for:

• Data on your device (training programs, history, preferences, pairing data, sign-in session): retained on your device until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall Vimo Connect. We have no access to it and cannot retain it ourselves.
• Account data (section 3): retained for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the data is removed from our production systems immediately and from our encrypted backups within 30 days.
• Inactive accounts: if an account is not used for 24 months, we delete it and its associated data.
• Support correspondence: if you email us, we keep that correspondence for up to 12 months so we can follow up on your request, after which it is deleted.
• Analytics and crash data: none is collected, so none is retained.

7. Deleting Your Data

You can delete your data at any time, and you do not need to contact us to do it.

Delete your account and all associated data from within the app:

• Open Vimo Connect and sign in.
• Go to Settings → Account.
• Tap Delete Account and confirm.

This permanently deletes your account and the account data described in section 3. The action cannot be undone.

Delete your data by email: if you cannot access the app, send a request to support@vimoswim.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Data deletion request". We will confirm receipt within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Delete the data held on your device: uninstall Vimo Connect, or clear the app's storage in your phone's system settings. This removes your training programs, training history, preferences, and pairing data.

Under the GDPR you also have the right to access your data, correct it, receive a copy of it in a portable format, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw consent. Write to support@vimoswim.com to exercise any of these rights; we respond within 30 days. If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority - in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

8. Children's Privacy

Vimo Connect does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed to be safe for users of all ages, and parental guidance is recommended for younger users. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Third-Party Services

Vimo Connect relies on the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase Authentication: handles sign-in and password security on our behalf.
• Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple: optional sign-in methods. When you use one, that provider shares your email address and name with us; it does not give us access to any other data in your Google or Apple account.
• App Store and Google Play: for app distribution and updates.

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking services.

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. Authentication tokens are held in your device's secure storage. Any data stored on your device is additionally protected by your device's built-in security features.

11. Policy Updates

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be reflected in the application and on this page, and the "last updated" date below will change. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
