Vimo Lens
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is at the core of how we design and build our products.
This privacy policy describes how Vimo Swim (Vimo Swim Sp. z o.o.), headquartered at Litewska 41/22, 30-014 Kraków, Poland, handles your data in connection with the Vimo Lens application.
Vimo Lens has not been released yet. This policy describes how the app is being designed to handle your data. We will publish the final version here before the first public release, and this page will always reflect the version of the app you can actually install.
1. Introduction
At Vimo Swim, we believe that privacy is a fundamental right. Vimo Lens is designed with a privacy-first approach: it is a desktop application that reads your swim files from your own disk and analyses them locally. This policy explains what data the app handles and how we protect your information.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
Vimo Lens stores the following data locally, on your own device:
- Imported Activity Files: The FIT files and Garmin exports you point the app at. They are read from — and stay in — the folders you choose.
- Local Index: A database on your machine that makes your history searchable without re-parsing every file.
- App Preferences: Window layout, chart choices and the folders you have added.
This data stays on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share it.
2a. No Account, No Upload
Vimo Lens has no sign-in and no server side. Your swim history is never uploaded to Vimo Swim. Analysis happens on your own machine, which is also why the app works offline.
If you export a chart or a table, that file is written where you choose it to be written and shared only by you. Removing the app removes its local index; your original activity files are left exactly as they were.
3. Data We May Collect
To improve our products, we may collect anonymous, aggregated diagnostic data such as:
- Crash reports and error logs, if you opt in (to fix bugs)
- Application version and operating system, attached to those reports (for compatibility)
This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally. You can opt out of analytics in the app settings.
4. Children's Privacy
Vimo Lens does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed to be safe for users of all ages, and parental guidance is recommended for younger users.
5. Third-Party Services
Vimo Lens may use the following third-party services:
- Direct download from vimoswim.com, and platform app stores where available
- Crash reporting, to identify and fix issues (anonymized data only).
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking services.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data. Any data stored on your device is protected by your device's built-in security features, and communication with your Vimo Swim device stays on a direct, local link.
7. Your Rights
Because Vimo Lens keeps your data on your own device, you remain in control of it at all times: you can delete it from within the app, or by uninstalling the app. If you believe we hold any personal data about you, you can ask us to access, correct or erase it using the contact details below.
8. Policy Updates
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be reflected in the application and on this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
