Vimo for Garmin
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is at the core of how we design and build our products.
This privacy policy describes how Vimo Swim (Vimo Swim Sp. z o.o.), headquartered at Litewska 41/22, 30-014 Kraków, Poland, handles your data in connection with the Vimo for Garmin application.
1. Introduction
At Vimo Swim, we believe that privacy is a fundamental right. Vimo for Garmin is designed with a privacy-first approach: it runs entirely on your Garmin watch and talks to your Vimo Swim device over a direct Bluetooth link. This policy explains what data the app handles and how we protect your information.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
Vimo for Garmin stores the following data locally, on your own device:
- Paired Device: The identifier of the Vimo Swim device your watch connects to, so it can reconnect automatically.
- App Settings: Your preferred tempo, default program and display options, stored in Connect IQ application storage on the watch.
This data stays on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share it.
2a. What the App Does and Does Not Access
Vimo for Garmin is a remote control. It sends tempo, start, stop and program commands to your Vimo Swim device over Bluetooth Low Energy, and reads back the device's current state so the watch screen matches what you hear in the water.
The app does not request access to your Garmin activity history, your GPS position, your heart rate data or your Garmin Connect account. It has no network permission and cannot send anything off your watch.
Because the app is distributed through the Connect IQ Store, Garmin may collect install and crash statistics under its own privacy policy. We receive only anonymized, aggregated versions of that data.
3. Data We May Collect
To improve our products, we may collect anonymous, aggregated diagnostic data such as:
- Crash and error reports surfaced by Garmin Connect IQ (anonymized, no personal identifiers)
This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally. You can opt out of analytics in the app settings.
4. Children's Privacy
Vimo for Garmin does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed to be safe for users of all ages, and parental guidance is recommended for younger users.
5. Third-Party Services
Vimo for Garmin may use the following third-party services:
- Garmin Connect IQ Store: app distribution and updates, governed by Garmin's own privacy policy
- Crash reporting, to identify and fix issues (anonymized data only).
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking services.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data. Any data stored on your device is protected by your device's built-in security features, and communication with your Vimo Swim device stays on a direct, local link.
7. Your Rights
Because Vimo for Garmin keeps your data on your own device, you remain in control of it at all times: you can delete it from within the app, or by uninstalling the app. If you believe we hold any personal data about you, you can ask us to access, correct or erase it using the contact details below.
8. Policy Updates
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be reflected in the application and on this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
